Marc Marquez is about to return to 100 percent: the Catalan rider, who was forced to miss the’last part of the MotoGP World Championship due to the injury he sustained to his right shoulder blade after a collision with Marco Bezzecchi, has returned to training on the bike at Circuito d’Alcarrás. The nine-time world champion was riding a Ducati Desmo450 MX, and after the training session he posted a series of photos on Instagram with which he documented his work: “First day in the saddle. Lots of work ahead, but time to start accumulating hours and sensations, one step at a time”.

Marc Marquez’s goal is to be 100 percent ahead of the first MotoGP test of the season. With him on the circuit were his ubiquitous brother Alex Marquez, a vice world champion, and Diogo Moreira, Moto2 2025 champion. In addition to physical conditions, the’other unknown concerns the Catalan rider&#8217s future. His contract expires at the end of 2026 and the renewal of the number 93 is still all to be negotiated. Meanwhile, he sent clear messages after the Ducati party: “Last year I said I knew what it meant to be ‘Gresini,’ now I know what it means to feel like a Ducatista”.

“I found the right team with the right bike, and I got to know the team and got a good feeling right away with Tardozzi, Grassilli and Dall’Igna, and that also made a difference. A happy rider is a fast rider. What do I ask for in 2026? I’m not asking for anything, just health. For victories, you need commitment. But health is the most important thing”. One of his former colleagues, Marco Melandri, said he is sure he will eventually renew with Ducati: “I think he will end his career in Rosso. In Ducati he knows the environment and knows how they work, plus they are very immediate in meeting his requests”.

“The only reason he might return to Honda would be to secure a nice retirement, but I don–t think he needs it – continued GPOne Melandri, who made a prediction for 2026 -. I hope the World Championship is not already written, because everyone would like fiery races and thrilling challenges to the last. However, I remain of the opinion that there will be no big surprises”.

“Marc Marquez remains at a level far above everyone else. The Mandalika incident in some ways was almost a good thing, because he was exhausted, he wanted to get the weight of winning the title and all that tension off his chest. This forced rest allowed him to recharge the energy he needed to come back even stronger at the’beginning of next year”.
