The roads of AC Milan and Divock Origi are parting ways: the Belgian striker, under contract with the Rossoneri since the summer of 2022, when he arrived on a zero-parameter basis, has signed the termination and will leave the Diavolo six months early. Origi has not been on the pitch with the Rossoneri jersey for two and a half years, more precisely since May 2023, but he has always remained on Milan’s payroll, refusing any other destination. The Belgian striker in his first year at Milan scored only two goals, playing very little, then after returning from the unsuccessful loan at Nottingham he never touched the ball again and ended up off the roster.

The Belgian striker has been in the Milan team for two years.

Origi continued to receive a 4 million euro net salary, almost 300,000 euros a month, never showing up at Milanello again and refusing any alternative destination other than playing with Milan Futuro in Serie C. The former Liverpool man in the last year and a half has been training alone in Italy with a personal athletic trainer. Now the long-awaited farewell has arrived: he will look for a team in January and could move to Saudi Arabia or some other exotic place. Christopher Nkunku could also leave the Rossoneri in January.

Hitherto the French striker has never managed to make his mark. In recent outings he has given some positive signs but Massimiliano Allegri no longer wants him in the team and has called on Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani to find him a new home, a task that is anything but easy given that the Rossoneri shelled out almost 40 million euros to acquire him and signed him to a contract until 2030.

The Rossoneri are hoping for a new deal.

The Diavolo’s hope is that some sheikh will come forward, although in this case the player would have to be convinced to accept the destination Saudi Arabia. Nkunku has not been able to settle in and has so far collected just 1 goal in the Italian Cup.Allegri was asking for a pure striker and ended up with a player with characteristics too similar to those of Leao and Pulisic.

Nkunku has played 14 games so far between league and cups, scoring one goal in the Italian Cup. The French striker will make way for Niclas Fullkgrug, who arrived from West Ham, a player with characteristics more similar to those Allegri wants.
