Premier League 2025-2026: Manchester United-Newcastle, the likely lineups

This evening at 9 p.m. Italian time at Old Trafford is the Premier League’s eighteenth day advance match between Manchester United and Newcastle.

The Boxing Day, known as Boxing Day, is usually full of soccer matches, instead this year there is only one and this has provoked many protests from English fans, for whom Dec. 26 is traditionally linked to soccer since there are always plenty of Premier League matches.

Instead, this year, the unexpected about-face due to TV rights, which dictate that matches are mostly played on Saturdays and Sundays, with the’exception of five midweek rounds.

The host Red Devils come to this match after last Sunday’s defeat in Birmingham against Aston Villa. The Magpies, like United, in their last two games have collected a draw and a defeat but the last one, unlike their opponents, they drew, 2-2 against Chelsea at home.
