Giovanni Franzoni gives continuity to what he showed in Wengen and starts again as a protagonist also on the Kitzbühel Streif. In the first time trial ahead of Saturday’s downhill, the Brescian signed the best time with 1’52″87, just 11 hundredths ahead of veteran Christof Innerhofer.

Behind them came Frenchman Maxence Muzaton, third at 0″39 from Franzoni, ahead of Swiss Alexis Monney (+0″42, despite a gate jump) and compatriot Nils Allegre, fifth at 0″54. Good feelings also for Mattia Casse, who immediately found the right feeling with the Tyrolean track and finished sixth at 0″57.

More delayed some of the bigs: Marco Odermatt finishes 1″41 behind, Vincent Kriechmayr with 1″54 and Von Allmen at 1″84. Benjamin Alliod placed 1″87, ahead of Florian Schieder (+2″11) and Dominik Paris (+2″60). Wider gaps for Guglielmo Bosca (+3″69), Marco Abbruzzese (+3″94) and Max Perathoner (+5″40).

The Kitzbühel program continues with the second and third time trials, currently confirmed for Wednesday and Thursday. Friday at 11:30 a.m. will feature the super-G, followed by the downhill on Saturday at the same time. The stage will close on Sunday with the slalom, consisting of two runs at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
