With the presentation of the Ducati MotoGp team behind us, an event in which the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer showed off the new livery of the Desmosedici GP26 immediately attracting the attention of MotoGp fans and enthusiasts, the gaze has now shifted to the renewal of the contracts of the two riders of the factory team, Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia. Together they have already won a total of three world titles with Ducati, and their co-partnership in the team will have to be further analyzed in the upcoming season, especially in view of the regulatory revolution scheduled for 2027.

Marquez and Bagnaia have contracts expiring at the end of the season, and their futures are at the center of Ducati’s plans. Team manager Davide Tardozzi spoke openly about the team’s strategies: “First of all we are trying to renew the world champion, as we did with Pecco in the past. We are not under pressure, but we would like to confirm, if possible, the world champion. Then we’ll see”.

Tardozzi’s words clearly show how Ducati is doing everything to retain Marquez, who is considered a key part of the team even for 2026. As for Bagnaia, however, the situation is inevitably linked to results on the track. Pecco’s confirmation could come according to future performance and Ducati’s overall strategy for the coming season.

2026 will therefore be a year of hoped-for confirmations but also of waiting: retaining Marquez seems to be the top priority, while Bagnaia remains under observation, ready to prove his worth once again. Meanwhile, Ducati fans look forward to the new Desmosedici GP26 and the challenges that await them in an increasingly competitive MotoGp.
