Myriam Sylla is back to tell her story, also dwelling on her farewell to Milan. The Italian national team’s setter was a guest on Alessandro Cattelan’s podcast where she spoke unfiltered about a complex period in her career and personal life: “I was wearing myself out, even physically”, Sylla explained, retracing the months leading up to her move to Galatasaray. “I had a moment of discouragement and I was kind of losing myself. I won the World Cup, but that doesn”t mean that everything was fine”.

Myriam Sylla is back to talk, including about her farewell to Milan.
The national team’s spiker was a guest on Alessandro Cattelan’s podcast.
"At that time I was wearing myself out, even physically".
"I had a moment of despondency and I was losing myself a little, before I went to Galatasaray".
"I won the World Cup, but that doesn’t mean everything was going well".
"The problems were there, especially in a part of my personal life".
"I was not able to express myself as I would have liked".
Over the years there has been no shortage of insults from haters.
"I have been told that I am a toxic person".
Moving to Turkey in this sense did not help.
They told me, “You are a mercenary, you suck, you only do it for money.”

Behind the sports successes, in fact, there were deep-seated difficulties: “Problems existed, especially in one part of my personal life. I was not able to express myself as I wanted to”. Over the years, there was also no shortage of attacks on social media. “I have been told that I am a toxic person” she recounted, also recalling the criticism she received after choosing to move to Turkey. “They wrote me ‘You are a mercenary, you suck, you are only doing it for money’ and things like that”.

The’former national team captain, who in recent years has ceded the sash to Anna Danesi but remained a staple of the sextet even with the’arrival of Julio Velasco on the bench, has not let those words affect her and is enjoying her new Giallorossi adventure, in a great city where she can always count on her great friend Alessia Orro, who in turn moved to Istanbul but to play for the even richer and more competitive Fenerbahce.

Meanwhile, the Italian Cup Final Four is scheduled in Turin this weekend: Conegliano, Scandicci, Novara and Chieri will compete for the tricolor rosette, with the reigning champion panthers favored for yet another title despite coming from a loss in the World Club Championship final, precisely against Scandicci.

The big absentee will be precisely Milan, which after saying goodbye to Orro and Sylla in the first part of the season ran into a few too many defeats before surrendering in the quarterfinals to Novara. So for the first time Paola Egonu, who broke her streak of consecutive appearances, will be missing.
