Touching farewell message from Roberto Baggio to mom Matilde. The soccer legend announced the death of his mother Matilde Reginato through his own social channels: “Dear Mom, your Love gave me the strength to shake the Universe. My debt of gratitude to you and Dad will not end with this life!” wrote the’former Codino.

Baggio, who has seven siblings (Gianna, Walter, Carla, Giorgio, Anna Maria, Nadia, and Eddy), had lost his father Florindo in August 2020, at the age of 89.

The Italian national team legend has always recounted over the years in various interviews the’affection that bound him to his mother.

Mom Matilde accompanied and supported him throughout his career as a soccer player, from his first tryouts with Vicenza at age 13 to his exploits in Serie A and with the Azzurri. She was very close to him after the serious injury in 1985 that almost jeopardized his career.
