Lazio soccer market: Daniel Maldini will be the long-awaited biancoceleste reinforcement after a month of January characterized on the contrary by numerous disposals. The’agreement for the son d’arte was found with Atalanta on Sunday evening, with the formula of the transaction also being finalized. The Capitolini, in this case, beat Juventus and especially Napoli to the punch, who were in turn on the trail of the ex-Monza striker who ended up at the bottom of the hierarchies of his new-old coach Raffaele Palladino in Bergamo.

Maldini will move to Lazio on an onerous loan, with the biancocelesti paying €1 million into Atalanta’s coffers immediately. Also planned is a right of redemption set instead at 14 million. The exchange of documents between the two clubs is said to have already begun on Sunday, with the officialdom therefore expected to arrive largely at the start of the week leading up to Maurizio Sarri&#8217s team&#8217s home match against Genoa, scheduled for the evening of Friday, January 30.

Oxygen then for the biancoceleste coach, who during the month lost first Valentin Castellanos (sold to West Ham) and then Matteo Guendouzi (moved to Fenerbahce). Back in December, when Lazio drew at the Olimpico against Bologna, Sarri had sent several barbs at Claudio Lotito’s address, although he did not mention him directly. “The affection of our fans is extraordinary. We do not forget that right now Lazio is a mid-table team, and to see what they have done for a mid-table team is extraordinary” he had told ‘DAZN’.

“It is not enough that Lazio is not weakened. The team must be strengthened. If then some player has to arrive who does not improve us, he might as well not arrive” had been other previous statements by Sarri. “The team will not be weakened in January, so there will be logic. However, we will not go to the supermarket with the spirit of pay one get three”, Lotito himself had instead made known.

In the meantime, however, Lotito had wanted to clarify the future of his own coach. “At Lazio there are no players against the’coach. Maurizio Sarri enjoys the full confidence of the club, as well as the total willingness and respect of the team” reads a statement from the biancoceleste patron.
