Sinner and Alcaraz may only meet in the final at the Australian Open

“It&#8217s been difficult because we are good friends. In the third set I had chances to break him but I didn&#8217t take advantage of them but I&#8217m glad I closed it out without losing any sets. I played the last points well. I am really satisfied”, the words of the defending champion at the end of his challenge with his friend Luciano Darderi.

On serving, which was absolutely devastating (19 aces against Luciano Darderi), Jannik Sinner was very clear: “Well, it would be nice to be able to always improve on serving. We have changed a little bit. In my opinion there is still room for improvement but I am satisfied with the way I am serving. It is becoming more and more stable as a shot but it is not the only shot I want to improve. I want to be less predictable”.

Jannik Sinner then talked about the upcoming match, revealing what his priority is at the moment: “The most important part now is to recover physically” explained the two-time Australian Open champion.

The mission to reach the final in Melbourne and try to take home the third Australian Open in a row is still doable. Worth mentioning that, in the magnificent eight still in the running, is also Lorenzo Musetti who will be competing with Nole Djokovic for a place in the semifinals.
