Bundesliga 2025-2026: St. Pauli-Lipsia, the probable formations

In the rematch of the sixteenth day of the Bundesliga, St. Pauli hosts a Leipzig team that is back from an up-and-down period: in the last five league games have come three defeats, a negative roster if we take into account that in the previous thirteen only two have come. However, the victory over the weekend against last-place Heidenheim can give morale to continue this streak and aim for Champions League qualification.
St. Pauli, on the other hand, is not in calm waters: the Pirates hold the second-last position in the standings and have not won in over a month. One of the biggest problems is definitely the offensive department: St. Pauli is last in goals scored, having scored only sixteen goals in eighteen matches, a rather low standard by German league standards.
The Pirates are in the second-to-last position in the standings.
Host coach Ole Werner will have to do without important players such as Bakayoko, Lukeba and the very young Ouedraogo all due to injury; in their place to make up the classic 4-3-3 will be Antonio Nusa wide left, Bitshiabu (former Paris Saint-Germain defender) and Schlager in midfield.
L’former Genoa coach Blessin will propose a defensive 3-4-3 to try to resist opposing attacks: the outfielders in midfield will be Oppie and Pyrka, two full-backs who will create a five-man defense when needed, while in the middle of the field is captain Irvine with Sands. In attack, the team’s bomber Houtondji is unavailable; in his place is Kaars.
