Cremonese market, Milan Djuric is official: now it’s the hunt for a defender, two names on the agenda

Cremonese announced on Tuesday the arrival of Milan Djuric in the grigiorosso: the now former Parma, class of 1990, goes to reinforce the attack at Davide Nicola’s disposal, which in recent weeks has shown not a few difficulties and in twenty-two games has scored twenty goals, with an average of less than a goal per game. “Dear Grigiorossi fans – said the Bosnian to the club’s official channels -, I am excited to be back here and I want to give my contribution to achieve our goal”.
Having found a solution for the attack, the grigiorosso club is now working on two fronts to reinforce the defense: at the top of the list is the name of Luca Marianucci, class of 2004 from Napoli, who has reportedly opened up to the transfer as he has now slipped down in Antonio Conte’s hierarchies. According to reports from ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, the coach’s final green light is precisely awaited to proceed with the operation. In parallel, the Lombard club would also be moving for Sebastiano Luperto, although in this case the’operation is more complex.
A class of 1996, at Cagliari since 2024, Luperto is liked for his leadership and ability to guide the backline. The Lecce native, however, is a permanent starter in the team coached by Pisacane: the Rossoblù coach, in fact, has kept him on the bench on only five occasions this season, leaving him on the field for the full ninety minutes in the others. However, the Lombard club continues to monitor the situation, ready to intervene if a concrete opening opens up to bring him to the grigiorosso.
This year Cremonese, promoted to Serie A after winning the B playoffs last year, had made a surprising start, beating Milan 2-1 at San Siro and collecting five useful results in the first five matches, nine in the first ten. From there on, however, something jammed up and just nine points came in the next twelve games.
The arrival of Milan Djuric was inserted in a context that saw Cremonese not score since January 8 (2-2 just against Cagliari, with grigiorossi goals by Dennis Johnsen and Jamie Vardy). In the following matches came first the 5-0 defeat at home to Juventus, then the 0-0 home draw against Hellas Verona and finally the 1-0 knockout at Mapei Stadium against Sassuolo.
