Crans-Montana, Azzurri skiers pay tribute to victims of tragedy. The video

The Italian alpine ski team, engaged in World Cup races in Crans-Montana over the weekend, paid tribute to the victims of the tragedy that occurred on New Year’s Eve at a club in the Canton Valais resort. The Azzurri went to the scene of the disaster, where they laid a bouquet of flowers and observed a minute’s silence. As a sign of mourning, the athletes will compete with black armbands.
In addition to FISI, in concert with the Italian government and CONI, the local organization of CdM events and the International Federation also wished to honor the memory of the very young victims: a minute’s silence was observed before the start of the competitions, while all side events were canceled and trackside advertisements removed, in order to focus attention exclusively on the sporting aspect.
No activities are also planned in the fan zone, and daytime events in downtown Crans-Montana at the city’s Curling Club have also been canceled.
