Jannik Sinner is still a long way off: Ben Shelton was beaten in three sets by the Blue in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, and was ousted from the Melbourne tournament exactly as he was a year ago. Compared to then, however, the U.S. tennis player is certain that he has grown a lot: “As far as the evolution of my game is concerned, I am a different player than I was 12 months ago” said the American, who in 2025 was beaten in the semifinals by the then world number one.

The 30-year-old from Hamburg has appeared in major magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle.

Zverev until recently was linked to Sophia Thomalla, Loris Karius’s ex.
Her style, definitely recognizable, looks very different from Daur’s.

Zverev beat the fearsome U.S. in four sets at the Australian Open.

“When I played against Jannik here last year, the conditions were much better for me, and my level dropped quickly in that match. Today was different, I think my level improved. The most difficult thing today was that although I was hitting the ball, I could not get him out of his rhythm as much as I wanted to. Results don’t always come when you want them … but I think I am much less limited than I used to be” assured the world number seven.

“The game I am playing takes time to perfect, and even if the results don&#8217t come, I have to persevere. I think I am close to putting it all together and soon the wins will come. I am not complete yet, but I feel that I am becoming more and more complete”. Sinner for his part analyzed the match he won against the star player as follows: “It is very tough to play against Ben. He has a powerful serve and is improving so much year after year”.

“Especially after the break, you never know how certain players will play against you and how they have changed other things”. Sinner will face in the semifinals Novak Djokovic, who in the’other quarterfinal took advantage of Lorenzo Musetti&#8217s withdrawal to qualify in the semifinals of a Slam for the fifth consecutive major.

Sinner, on the other hand, is in his sixth consecutive semifinal at a Slam: his goal is to win the Australian Open again for the third time in his career.
