Europa League draw: Bologna draws Brann, risk 'derby' in the round of 16

After the Champions League playoff draw, the playoffs valid for the knockout phase of the Europa League were also decided in Nyon. Bologna, the only Italian team in the playoffs since Roma, which finished the group in eighth place, qualified directly for the round of 16, drew Brann. The matches valid for the playoffs will be played in a week between the first leg, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, and the return leg, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25. Bologna, as the top seed, will play the return match at home at the Dall’Ara.

If Bologna, drawn in the right side of the draw, passes the round, it could take on one of Freiburg or Roma. However, the draw for the round of 16 will not be known until Friday, Feb. 6, once all the Europa League playoffs are over.
