Milan market, Rossoneri accelerate for Mateta. Decided who to sacrifice immediately

Not only Fullkrug: AC Milan is working to land another reinforcement in attack before the end of the winter soccer market session. According to rumors, the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace for the arrival of Jean-Philippe Mateta, until a few days ago a target of Juventus. The Diavolo emissaries have reportedly found the’agreement with the Londoners for the sum of 30 million euros.
The deal is scheduled for next June, but the arrival could be brought forward upon payment of an additional 5 million euros, for a total of 35 million euros. Mateta could leave London immediately if Crystal Palace manages to close for a replacement by the end of the winter session: English media name Evan Guessand of Aston Villa. In addition, Milan itself would have to free up an attacking post if it wanted to take the Congolese-born French forward right away.
Christopher Nkunku is the biggest suspect to be sold in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, reports Sport Mediaset. The French striker is liked by several clubs, both in Italy and abroad, and would free up the slot needed for Mateta. Also on his trail would be Roma, which is looking for a high-level outside player: the former Chelsea man could be the right fit for Gasperini.
The perfect fit is needed for the Rossoneri, who also have to watch out for competition from Nottingham Forest, which has its eye on Mateta: but the Diavolo is rather quiet, it already has an agreement with the player. Mateta reportedly said yes to a four-year contract at 3.5 million euros net per season plus bonuses.
As for the defense, the Radu Dragusin hypothesis has popped up in recent days. The Romanian is not a new name for the Diavolo: already a couple of years ago, during the defender’s experience with Genoa, he was sounded out by the Rossoneri management but then Tottenham got the better of him and in 2024 they won him for 25 million euros.
The Romanian defender has been in the market for a couple of years.
In England, things are not going so well for Dragusin, who has had some problems settling in and has failed to convince Thomas Franck to grant him an important space in the team. Certainly the Spurs’ overall performance has not helped him’and he may therefore decide to return to Italy to revive himself.
