Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo cryptic about his future

The domino effect on the MotoGP market continues. After the news that has shaken the paddock, with Pedro Acosta getting closer to Ducati, Jorge Martin destined for Yamaha and Pecco Bagnaia ready to leave the Borgo Panigale factory, another major rumor is making itself heard: the one concerning the future of Fabio Quartararo.
The 2021 world champion has ended up at the center of rumors that he would be close to Honda for 2027. This is not the first time that the French rider’s name has been approached by the house of the golden wing. In the past, Quartararo had described these rumors as mere talk, but in the world of the premier class, denials do not always rule out future developments.
In a meeting with the media before the Sepang tests, the French rider confirmed contacts with Honda: “It’s one of the teams I’m talking to. I will take my time to make a decision for 2027, but at the moment I have not signed anything. I have the right people around me”. Quartararo wants to take the time to evaluate all available options, looking carefully at the long-term prospects.
The moment the Frenchman is experiencing is a delicate one. After winning the world title with Yamaha, the last few seasons have been complicated, mainly due to a bike that has not allowed him to consistently fight for the top positions. This has inevitably led to reflections on a possible change.
A possible farewell to Yamaha would represent a strong choice, considering the bond built over the years. However, Quartararo’s future is intertwined with the 2027 season, when the new technical regulations will come into effect. A change that will bring about a real revolution in the motomarket, making rider choices even more strategic. It now remains to be seen what Fabio will choose, in one of the most important moments of his career.
