Carlos Alcaraz came into the crosshairs of some critics in Spain after his press conference outburst following the Australian Open final he won against Novak Djokovic. The Murcia-based tennis player, who never recalled his former coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, sent a dig at those who criticized him for his decision to change coaches-a choice that ultimately proved successful, given his success in Melbourne.

“Actually, now I remember those who said I couldn&#8217t make it. Those who said I would come here and not make it past the quarterfinals or that I wouldn&#8217t play good tennis. Those who did not believe in me” Alcaraz said in front of reporters. A sentence that did not please Toni Nadal: “You cannot forget the work that Juan Carlos did for so many years. I would not have liked it if Rafa had behaved this way with Carlos Moya when we separated”, Toni told RadioEstadio.

“I don&#8220t know how their relationship ended, but when he said those words, I felt bad. Ferrero should be remembered for his work in these seven years”. According to Toni Nadal, Alcaraz is currently unrivaled: “Alcaraz has an extraordinary physicality. He’s excellent from every technical point of view, but besides that he is also lucky: his opponents are of a lower caliber than in the past”.

“Before you could play against Del Potro, Murray, or Wawrinka and you knew you were going to suffer and the match was going to be tough. If they were on their day, they had chances to beat you. Today Zverev is the only one who can face Sinner or Alcaraz, as long as he changes something in his game”.
