Federica Brignone did great but no medal

She is competing for the downhill. Federica Brignone did very well: she went downhill third and did it with courage, no medal for her but a demonstration of talent and self-sacrifice, once again.
In the downhill of the previous edition, the one in Beijing 2022, gold went to Corinne Suter, solid and precise on the day that counted. Behind her, Sofia Goggia took a hefty silver after a season marred by injuries. Bronze went to Nadia Delago, who completed a historic Italian one-two.
It was Sofia Goggia’s Olympics in Pyeongchang 2018. Her downhill was aggressive, clean, without hesitation: very well-deserved gold. The silver went to Ragnhild Mowinckel, the bronze to Lindsey Vonn.
A unique edition in Sochi in 2014: the gold ex aequo went to Tina Maze and Dominique Gisin, with the exact same time. Bronze went to Lara Gut, then at the beginning of a long career at the top and not yet married to Valon Behrami.
In Vancouver 2010, Lindsey Vonn dominated, winning gold and confirming herself as the queen of speed. Silver took Julia Mancuso, bronze Elisabeth Goergl.
On the home snows for Italy, the gold from the 2006 Turin edition went to Michaela Dorfmeister. Martina Schild was silver, while Anja Pärson took the third step of the podium.
