Alex Marquez in KTM? The choice on his future by Thailand

Alex Marquez began the 2026 season by confirming the determination that marked him in 2025. Indeed, the vice-world champion showed excellent performances in the Sepang tests, but his future on the grid is not yet defined. As Alex himself explained, “Before the debut in Thailand I will decide where I will race in 2027.”

The rider market is already in motion, and Alex’s position is closely linked to that of other World Championship protagonists. With Bezzecchi’s renewal with Aprilia now official, Marquez has reportedly also received an offer from KTM. At the same time, the possibility of continuing with Team Gresini, a team he knows well and with which he has built a strong relationship since 2023, remains concrete. For him it would be his second experience with a factory team, after 2020 in Honda Repsol alongside his brother Marc, if for next year he decides whether to accept an offer from a factory team, including KTM.

The rider is carefully considering each option, aware that every choice carries risks and that the market is constantly evolving. While cautiously observing the different possibilities, Alex does not rule out trying new challenges to grow further and make the most of his talent. As he himself clarified, “If I can take a risk, I will do it next year, because no one knows which way will be best.”

Alex Marquez explained that he wants to carefully evaluate each proposal, taking into account not only the technical aspects, but also the understanding with the team and the emotional balance, which is fundamental for a rider. He added, “I want to have my future already clarified before the first race.” Therefore, the goal is to arrive at a clear and final decision, so that he can face the season with confidence and plan as well as possible for 2027.
