Felix Auger-Aliassime doesn&#8217t want to stop after his triumph at the Montpellier ATP 250 that brought him close to the top 5, just 455 points behind Lorenzo Musetti, currently ranked fifth in the ATP rankings. “I am following the normal progression in a tennis player–s career,” he said at a press conference –I have won several ATP 250s, some 500s, and as I progress, I want to take the next step. To win a Masters 1000 and a Slam; I hope to do that this year’year”.

“I feel I have improved not only in my tennis, but also in my physical preparation. Tennis has become a very explosive sport and you have to be at 100 percent to compete at the highest level” added the Canadian, who dropped an encore at the”Open Occitanie’ in the final won with Adrian Mannarino after last year’s success in the final with Aleksandar Kovacevic.

“I still have work to do, I need to be more consistent and playing the Atp Finals in Turin would be a good way to end the season. My serve will help me win matches where I don&#8217t feel completely comfortable, now I give it the importance it deserves and I&#8217ve improved it” explained Felix.

They are not all the same.

“I really feel that my season started this week, because what I experienced in Australia was the result of health problems I had at the end of the year. I was not in the best possible shape for the first few tournaments, and it was a blessing to have two weeks off to recover properly and train. I am very happy and relieved to have won here, but now I want more” Aliassime concluded.

Auger-Aliassime will immediately return to the court in the Rotterdam ATP 500 in which he is the second seeded seed. The Canadian will make his debut against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin, number 50 in the world rankings.
