Curling, Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner give Italy a splendid bronze medal

Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner return to the Olympic podium. In Milan Cortina 2026, the Italian pair won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles, confirming their international value after the Beijing 2022 gold and redeeming their defeat in the semifinals. Against Great Britain, the two Azzurri put a solid plan into practice, managing the key moments with lucidity: in the end came a not easy success, with a result of 5-3, which gave Italy another medal in a discipline that precisely thanks to Constantinie Mosaner has experienced exponential growth in recent years.

The bronze came at the end of a complex tournament in which Constantini and Mosaner nevertheless managed to confirm initial expectations. After a group stage closed in second place with six wins and three losses, the Azzurri succumbed in the semifinals to the United States, losing 9-8 with no small amount of regret. In the final for third place, however, they imposed their game from the start, taking advantage not only of their experience, but also of the great thrust of the crowd that flocked to the Olympic Ice Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

For Italy it is the’eleventh medal overall in this edition of the games, adding to Francesca Lollobrigida’s gold in speed skating-3000 meters and that of the mixed relay in short track, the silvers of Giovanni Franzoni in the downhill and the Giacomel-Hofer-Wierer-Vittozzi quartet in the 4×6 km mixed biathon, and the bronzes of Dominik Paris in the men’s downhill, Sofia Goggia in the women’s downhill, Lucia Dalmasso in the parallel giant in snowboarding, Riccardo Lorello in the 5.000 meters in speed skating, Dominik Fischnaller in luge and the Italian figure skating team (Rizzo, Grassl, Gutmann, Conti, Macii, Guignard and Fabbri).

The curling program at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games does not end with the mixed doubles: in fact, from Feb. 11 to 21 the men&#8217s tournament will take place, while from Feb. 12 to 22 the women&#8217s tournament is scheduled. Amos Mosaner will be part of the men’s team along with Joel Retornaz, Sebastiano Arman, Mattia Giovanella and designated reserve Alberto Pimpini.

Stefania Constantini, on the other hand, will be the skip of the blue women’s team, which also includes Elena Mathis, Marta Lo Deserto, Giulia Zardini Lacedelli and ‘Alternate’ Rebecca Mariani. The format of the two tournaments is the same as that of mixed doubles: round robin all against all, followed by semifinals for the best four and subsequent finals for medals.
