Hakan Calhanoglu is ready to return to the field for his Inter team, perhaps already in time for the big match against Juventus next Saturday. Indeed, the Nerazzurri club showed the Turk on Tuesday as he trained regularly with his teammates after a month-long injury layoff. He himself highlighted the milestone with a post on Instagram, in which the caption “Back at it” appears. All too easy a translation: “I am back”. And for Cristian Chivu it will be an’additional arrow to the’bow, in a very delicate phase of the season.

Calhanoglu had stopped due to a muscle problem during the 2-2 draw against Napoli in January. On that very occasion, before the injury, he had put the Nerazzurri ahead for the second time thanks to a much-disputed penalty kick. In the meantime, he had undergone an MRI scan, which showed a muscle soreness in the left soleus. It was not the first seasonal stop for him, as the Turk had already faced several physical problems in late 2025.

In November, in fact, a wrist injury had arrived for him, suffered during the match played by his Turkey against Bulgaria. In December, in the first half of the Champions League match between Inter Milan and Liverpool played at San Siro and then won by the Reds 1-0, came instead a contracture in the right adductor after just 11 minutes of the game. Not an easy year for Calhanoglu, who ended up in the eye of the storm even for the missed penalty during the derby against Milan. Circumstance in which, as a detested ex, he was booed by the Rossoneri curve.

For him in January there were also market rumors, with the’hypothesis of a return to Turkey and precisely to Galatasaray. Operation then never got off the ground, with Calhanoglu who (despite being unavailable) regularly remained in the squad of Inter, a club he joined in 2021 leaving the very cousins of Milan.

The latter is the only club in the world that has been able to offer him a new role.

In addition to Calhanoglu, meanwhile, Inter have recovered another very important pawn in their midfield as Nicolò Barella. In the absence of the two, along with Zielinski, Chivu relied on Mkhitaryan and Sucic. In addition to Davide Frattesi, himself long at the center of market rumors that in the end did not materialize.
