The’former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund striker has no plans to retire anytime soon, and indeed is considering a new overseas adventure, the last of his career. For months there has been talk of strong interest from the Chicago Fire, an MLS club, and after initial talks with agents a first official offer for him has reportedly arrived.

According to reports in the Spanish newspaper Sport, Lewandowski has been offered a two-year contract with a very large salary. The Chicago Fire are looking for a world-class player and the Polish national would be at the top of their preferences.

The negotiations are reportedly advanced, so much so that Ana Lewandowski, the player’s wife, was spotted late last year in Chicago, looking for a possible future residence. A few weeks ago, the player&#8217s agent Pini Zahavi met with Chicago Fire owner Joe Mansueto, with the aim of reaching an agreement.

With the arrival of the offer Lewandowski will have to make a final decision. The Chicago Fire in the past have unsuccessfully courted other big stars such as Neymar, Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne.

Lewandowski, though used less frequently by Hansi Flick, has scored 10 goals in 18 games played in La Liga this season. Last year, the Polish national had turned down an offer from a club in Saudi Arabia, which had offered him an astronomical 100 million euro contract.
