A dinner to regain lost unity ahead of the last part of the season: all Real Madrid players Tuesday night gathered at a restaurant in Madrid to recompose themselves after the controversy of recent weeks. Missing from the meeting was Alvaro Arbeloa, the successor to Xabi Alonso who has already received a lot of criticism after his appointment as the Madrid team&#8217s new coach.

Paying for the dinner were Vinicius Jr and Mbappé: the Brazilian posted a photo on his social profile in which he immortalized all 24 Real Madrid players united. There were also the injured Militao, Rodrygo and Bellingham.

The dinner was held at the ’61’ restaurant, located on Jose Abascal Street, and took place a week before the Champions League playoff first leg match against Benfica, a decisive appointment to turn around a so far up-and-down season. The’meeting went on until after midnight, and the’last to leave the venue was Asencio, at 2:50. This was reported by Spanish newspaper Marca.

Vinicius and Mbappé, who paid the bill, are two members of the restaurant-club, which is frequented by several public figures such as actors Arón Piper and Ester Expósito, wrestler Ilia Topuria and businessman Alejandro Agag.

The latest controversy in Madrid concerns captain Dani Carvajal, who has been excluded by Arbeloa in recent matches despite having fully recovered from injury. The Spanish defender’s contract expires in June and he could leave at the end of the season: the player, winner of six Champions Leagues, is no longer in the club’s future plans.
