There is no doubt that Xabi Alonso is among the most sought-after coaches on the market, and since he was exonerated by Real Madrid, practically a month ago, various hypotheses for his future have popped up. Most of the options are in England and the latest rumors lead to London.

According to BBC reports, Tottenham would like to hand the bench to Xabi Alonso specifically given the team’s poor performance under Thomas Frank. Despite a squad of great quality, Spurs are 16th in the Premier League, a position far from the goals the management had set last summer. For this reason, the club has decided to part ways with Frank and the search for a replacement has already begun.

Xabi Alonso is, however, also in the sights of Liverpool and Manchester City, which is why Tottenham executives would like to move right away and contact the Spanish coach: the goal is to get ahead of the competition and already plan the next moves to deliver Xabi Alonso a team suited to his style of play. Convincing the former Real Madrid man to accept the English club&#8217s bench will not be easy: Liverpool has a considerable advantage over the competition.

There is a special bond that binds Xabi Alonso and the Reds and, should the club&#8217s management come forward, it would be very difficult for the Spanish coach to refuse: with the Liverpool shirt the footballer played 5 years collecting great victories and indelible memories. Among these certainly stands out the Champions League won in 2005 at the end of an epic match that will forever remain in history: down 3-0 against AC Milan, Xabi Alonso’s team came back 3-3 and later won on penalties.

If, on the other hand, the Liverpool management confirms its confidence in Arne Slot, Manchester City will do everything in its power to sign Xabi Alonso: in England they are sure that this will be Pep Guardiola&#8217s last season and on the list of possible replacements is also the former Real Madrid coach. Also on the Citizens’ notebook are the names of Enzo Maresca and Vincent Kompany.
