Moments of great apprehension in the Lazio household due to the injury suffered Wednesday night by Spanish striker Pedro during the Coppa Italia quarterfinal against Bologna. The biancoceleste player was forced to leave the field at the end of the first half after a hard clash with Odgaard that resulted in an unnatural movement of his right ankle. Immediately in pain, the player was unable to place his foot on the ground and was escorted off by the biancoceleste medical staff.

Footage showed Pedro in tears as he was carried toward the locker room, a clear sign of the severity of the pain he felt. According to reports from Sportmediaset, the club has ordered an immediate transfer to the hospital to perform investigations on his right leg, with particular attention to his ankle and knee, in an attempt to rule out fractures or injuries.

The images worried fans and insiders in no small part: the player was struggling to support the weight on his leg and treatment already on the sidelines, before being transported out of the Dall’Ara stadium, did not seem to be enough.

Lazio now awaits the results of hospital tests to define the extent of the problem and recovery time. On the pitch, Sarri had to replace Pedro with Noslin, using a change slot already before halftime.
