Volleyball champion Anna Danesi in an interview with Talk Player did not use mincing words when talking about Rai Sport director Paolo Petrecca, who did not recognize her during the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

“I honestly don&#8217t care that the director of Rai Sport did not recognize me. I looked at the Olympic flashlight, he made a world-class impression. Then, my sister the next day sent me the little piece where we carried the flashlight with the Eurosport commentary and there I cried… My fiancé asked me what was going on and I calmed him’I calmed him down”.

Danesi on Thursday renewed his contract with Vero volleyball until 2027. It’s the Milanese club itself that announced it: “Contract extension for the number 11 meneghina, who signed the renewal until the end of the next sporting year (…). The Italian national team captain is thus preparing to live her third consecutive season with the Numia jersey, her sixth overall among the ranks of Vero Volley. In the current sporting year Danesi has so far collected 223 points – of these 77 are walls – between Serie A1 Tigotà and CEV Champions League”.

“I am very happy to continue with Milan – commented Anna Danesi – Next will be my sixth season overall at Vero Volley. The city of Monza has become home for me: my fiancé is here and my life outside volleyball I will live here. I am very comfortable with this club and so it was easy for me to decide to extend my contract for another year. I have confidence in the project that is being built for the coming season: this year we managed to win the first national trophy with the club and I hope that next season will bring as much satisfaction”.
