Robert Lewandowski is not at all frustrated at being used less by Barcelona coach Hansi Flick than in the past. This season the Polish national team star has played significantly fewer games, taking the field 28 times, only 16 of which as a starter. This is a peculiar situation for a player who is used to playing all the time, but the 37-year-old striker does not feel shaken, in fact he is grateful to Flick.

“Every situation has its advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, every player wants to play as much as possible because the pace of the game is crucial. On the other hand, the current situation gives me more freshness and energy, both physically and mentally” Lewandowski told the Polish newspaper Pilka Nozna.

“I feel stronger, even in my life away from soccer, which is really important given the’busy schedule”. Lewandowski when he has been called upon has always done very well, and this season he has scored 13 goals.

Just a few days ago it was decided to send Livakovic back to Fenerbahcece

.

“Maybe I will play a little bit’less minutes, but that also has its advantages. I also know that I would be ready to play ninety minutes every three days, just as I have done all my life. I do not feel behind younger players, neither physically nor in terms of soccer ability”, continued the Polish national.

Lewandowski with these statements wanted to send a message to the club: he is willing to extend the contract that expires next summer. At the moment, however, Barcelona has stalled, with sporting director Deco expressing himself as follows:“I think time will tell. I think Robert also has his own personal plans, we will see. Before then, we also need to know more about the Financial Fair Play situation, we need to clarify the future of the team”.

Lewandowski in case of a farewell to Barcelona could move to MLS, he has been in contact with the Chicago Fire for some time and would be considering the first offer from the U.S. club. One thing is certain: the’former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund gunner has no intention of retiring.
