Better could not have started, on a personal level, Edin Dzeko&#8217s adventure at Schalke 04: in three games played, the Bosnian striker has scored three goals, for an average of one goal every 45 minutes. His signing has sparked a veritable frenzy in Gelsenkirchen, with 10 thousand jerseys sold for a total of about 350,000 euros, which has already repaid the former Fiorentina forward’s base salary until the end of the season.

Since his arrival in the 2.Bundesliga team, however, Schalke 04 has not been able to win: in the last three games they have scored just two points and slipped to second place in the standings, undermined by Darmstadt. According to former Schalke coach Felix Magath, the arrival of Dzeko has altered the team&#8217s balance.

“Schalke has created a problem for itself. Before, everyone was crossing their fingers and saying something was missing in attack, but now Schalke is clearly the favorite” he explained to RTL. “The team was playing superbly in the first half of the season, everything was going well, everyone was happy and it couldn”.

“Then they decided to get Dzeko, a really great player, who in theory can give the team a hand, but he completely changed the dynamic of the group and there is no more balance”.

And now Schalke has lost the lead in the standings: “The other players now have to regain their position, which is why there&#8217s this little crisis. They have to regain control as soon as possible, otherwise Schalke will unfortunately be in trouble regarding promotion”, Magath continued.

“Dzeko is not an ordinary player, there are not many with his qualities. Now he just needs to be helped on the field by others”.
