The issue of Dayot Upamecano&#8217s contract renewal continues to stir Bayern Munich fans: in recent weeks the French defender seemed to have reached a final agreement with the Bavarian club to continue together but the signature still isn&#8217t there. Fans, who are already not particularly happy with the details of the contract that have emerged in recent days, are back to the controversy.

On social media a lot of Bayern Munich fans are lashing out at Dayot Upamecano: “Nice gratitude to the club that made you great” wrote one user ironically on X. Also disappointed Michael: “Very long negotiation, it seemed all done and instead you still haven…t signed yet” what more do you want? There are even those who ask the Bayern Munich management to withdraw the offer made: “After this pathetic display, Upamecano does not deserve to stay. Other than a renewal offer, send him away now” is one of the comments with more ‘likes’. “No one is superior to a club like ours, if you want to renew you sign right away, if you want to go you say so clearly. Bayern Munich will exist forever, you in a few years will end up in Saudi Arabia” Maximilian always sentenced on X.

The offer made by Bayern Munich to Dayot Upamecano is a €20 million a year deal until 2030 and there is talk of a €20 million signing bonus. It seems to be the signing bonus wanted by the agents that is the main obstacle and the reason why the signature on the extension has not yet arrived. Optimism is filtering from the Bavarian club’s management, but fans are losing patience and discontent is growing.

In the past few weeks there has been talk about the possible purchase of Schlotterbeck by Bayern Munich, regardless of the signing of Dayot Upamecano. During an interview granted to Sport Bild, Lothar Matthäus dismissed the’idea: “Bayern already has three other players who can play in the center of defense besides Upamecano and Tah: Kim, Ito and Stanisic. No need for a central defender. Also no to Givairo Read for the right flank: the question is, do they really need him? I think no. I would continue to deploy Konrad Laimer in that role, he is one of the best d’Europe”.
