Davide Ghiotto: "That sucks, it’s the'last Olympics for me"

This is a very disappointing Olympics for Davide Ghiotto, who on the eve was given as one of the favorites in the men’s 10,000-meter speed skating event at the Milan Cortina 2026 Games. Only a year ago the Blue had set a world record in the distance, in today’s final he skated 20 seconds slower and finished only sixth. At the end of the race he let himself down.

“I don’t know what to say honestly, I think the race showed. I really sucked, I let myself down and everyone who believed in me – is the vent of the Blue, who hoped to do better in front of the home crowd- . I am sorry it turned out this way, it could be my last Olympics and my last 10,000 and to end my long distance career like this here is not the most pleasant thing”.

Too bad because after the 5,000 meters he was very satisfied, he was confident that he could perform well and aim for the highest podium, unfortunately it didn”.
