Ducati: Jorge Lorenzo also throws Pecco Bagnaia into the fray

The’former MotoGP centaur Jorge Lorenzo does not cut Pecco Bagnaia out of the title fight. According to the Majorcan’s former rider, the two-time MotoGp world champion will also have his say despite a poor 2025 with Ducati.

“Pecco is still a champion, he is an incredible rider, super fast, super talented, super precise, and last year he failed to prove it” are the words of the’former Honda, Ducati and Yamaha. “His negative results did not reflect what he is capable of, and I think that when he feels more comfortable with the bike, he will show that he is a contender for the title”.

Lorenzo recalled that he also had bad years in the past:”I remember when I was in Yamaha in 2014: the year before I had fought for the title against Marc Marquez. I was very strong, but they changed the rules, fitted harder tires, reduced the fuel by two liters and the bike changed completely. It was a big change for me and the results at the beginning of the season were very negative”.

Bagnaia after the last MotoGP tests expressed positive feelings: “Fortunately my feeling is very positive, especially on the front of the bike on braking and entry, which was what we were looking for last year. So so far so good. Then we focused on new parts like the fairing: it has pros and cons but I did the exact same time with both, old and new, so as a start and few kilometers it”.

“Right away I felt good about it. Fortunately what last year was a limitation here seems not to be there. It’s also true that it&#8217s a track where I&#8217ve always gone fast, so for the moment you always have to take everything with a grain of salt, but I&#8217m very relieved with this first day, as a feeling I felt good right away”.
