On the night only three NBA games were played ahead of the All-Star Weekend, but history was made in one. In the 124-104 victory of the Los Angeles Lakers (33-21) over the Dallas Mavericks (19-35), LeBron James outdid himself. At 41, No. 23 put together 28 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds, becoming the oldest player ever to record a triple double. For Dallas, 19 points apiece for Max Christie and Naji Marshall.

In Salt Lake City, the Portland Trail Blazers (27-29) instead extinguished the ambitions of the Utah Jazz (18-38), imposing themselves 135-119. The stars were Jrue Holiday, scorer of 31 points and close to a triple double, and Donovan Clingan, who came close in turn with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists. For Utah, the only really continuous one was Brice Sensabaugh, who finished with 28 on a night when six players still went into double figures.

Less bright moment, however, for the Oklahoma City Thunder (42-14), who have a balanced record (5-5) in their last ten games. On the night came a 110-93 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks (23-30), still lacking Giannis Antetokounmpo. Seven men in double figures for Milwaukee, with Ousmane Dieng tallying 19 points and 11 rebounds and Bobby Portis decisive from the bench (15 points and 12 rebounds). For OKC, without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Isaiah Joe’s 17 points and Chet Holmgren’s 16 with 13 rebounds were not enough to avoid the misstep.
