At 40 years old, after 21 seasons in the NBA, Chris Paul has decided to end his extraordinary career. The U.S. point guard announced his retirement with a message on social media, a week after being released by the Los Angeles Clippers, a team he had only played with until December. Paul was one of the absolute stars of star-studded basketball. His list of achievements also includes two Olympic gold medals with the United States, won in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Pure madness in the NBA, chaos breaks out on the court
A'huge brawl broke out during the challenge between Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets
The brawl started when Moussa Diabate of the Hornets committed a hard foul on Pistons center Jalen Duren
Duren then hit the'opponent in the face and the situation escalated
The referees lost control of the situation and the field turned into a huge ring
Some elements of the bench had to intervene to avoid the worst
Moussa Diabate was furious and tried every way to tackle Jalen Duren
Rarely do you see such violent fights in the NBA: harsh punishments are expected from the league
The brawl lasted several minutes, it was extremely difficult to restore peace between the players
Horrible scenes that made the rounds via social media: criticism came from everywhere
So many users on X have criticized the behavior of the players: "Only idiots get excited seeing certain scenes" wrote someone on X
insults and shoving also flew in the'area leading to the locker room

During his career he wore the jerseys of New Orleans (where in 2006 he was named Rookie of the Year) Houston, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Golden State, San Antonio and finally Toronto. In total he played 1,370 games, traveling at an average of 16.8 points, 9.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds per contest. He only came close to an NBA title in 2021, when he led the Phoenix Suns to the Finals, then lost to Milwaukee. Also famous was his failed trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Chris Paul was, for years, one of the most effervescent point guards ever seen in the’NBA. Class of 1985, he was a rookie in 2006 and participated in as many as 12 editions of the’All Star Game (MVP of the 2013 edition). In 2021, he was named, by the’NBA, to the list of the best 75 players in history. In short, an All Star career but with a stain: he has never won, at least until now, the NBA’ring. He tried so many times and with so many franchises but his dream never came true.

Returning to the LA Clippers (he had already played there from 2011 to 2016) for a’last ride in search of the NBA ring along with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, CP3 saw his path suddenly stop. No injury but a clean break with the franchise.

“I am filled with joy and gratitude. Although this chapter as an Nba player is over, basketball will forever remain part of my DNA,” he wrote in his message. “I have been in the Nba for more than half my life, three decades. It is amazing to even say it”.
