“Aleksa Damjanovic is one of the most promising offensive talents in Europe” said sports CEO Simon Rolfes. “He is very eager to learn and hungry for success. We are happy to have him here at Bayer 04 starting in the summer”.

Sports director Kim Falkenberg sees in the 1.98-meter-tall southpaw “a striker who can make the most of his robust physique in the penalty area. Added to this are great qualities in finalization and aerial play”.

For Damjanovic, who has made 17 professional appearances so far this season, the move to Bayer 04 represents “a fantastic opportunity to grow and improve at a top club like Bayer 04. For me, it is the right stage to make the step abroad in the summer. I am very motivated to establish myself here in Leverkusen”.

With Red Star’s Under-17 team, Damjanovic won the Serbian championship in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. In 47 total appearances he scored 39 goals and was also the top scorer in 2025. In the current season, the striker plays with both Red Star’s first team and the affiliated team Grafičar Belgrade in the Serbian second division.
