Trento condemns Grottazzolina to relegation to A2 series

The regular season of the SuperLega Credem Banca 2025/26 restarts after a two-week break and gives Itas Trentino two more precious points, hard-won but crucial for the ranking. In fact, at the BTS Arena, the Italian Champions overcame the tail-end Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina 3-2 in a comeback in the 20th round, the third-to-last before the Play Off Scudetto.
The victory confirms the Yellow-blues in third place, just behind Perugia and Verona, keeping three points ahead of the first pursuer Modena, and at the same time condemns the Marche players to relegation to Serie A2 two days in advance. In fact, the guests would have had to win a three-point victory to keep their salvation hopes alive; until the third set, however, they had given the Trentini a hard time, putting them in trouble in both the opening and middle sets after the initial 1-1.
Itas Trentino, however, once again showed great character: despite a less than brilliant day in attack (47% team share, 13 direct errors and 7 conceded walls), the team never gave up, rebuilding the score step by step. Decisive were the entries of Lavia (MVP with 15 points, 4 of them at the wall) and Faure (13 points from the bench), Ramon’s continuity (19 points with 50% and 2 ace) and the service acumen of Bartha (4 ace), lined up as a starter in place of Flavio, stopped by lumbago.
