The controversy that arose during the derby d’Italia between Inter and Juventus on the occasion of Pierre Kalulu’s sending off does not seem to be subsiding. Already cautioned, the French defender received just before halftime a second yellow card for an alleged foul on Alessandro Bastoni but replays clearly showed that the contact was very light and certainly not such as to be punished with a caution. The Inter defender then cheered as if he had scored a goal and was overwhelmed by criticism.

Fabrizio Biasin, an influencer and well-known journalist of the Inter faith, decided to stand up for Alessandro Bastoni and did so through a post on X: “Alessandro Bastoni made a mistake, and that is a fact. Was it a good thing to see? No, certain things “make matches ugly” (reaction on the ejection included). Like him, every single week, so many people make mistakes, this doesn&#8217t justify it at all, but neither should it make him feel ‘more wrong’ than others”.

“To speak of a mistake not to be repeated is rightful (I repeat, rightful), to promote public pillorying is petty, especially if it is encouraged by people with more than 5 neurons who should have a grasp of what a sentence of theirs is worth. Alessandro Bastoni is a wonderful player and boy, that he should become a sacrificial victim of a movement that –toh– only today realizes that in soccer players often ‘try’ is profoundly unfair and, allow me, frankly pathetic” thundered Biasin.

Specifically, Alessandro Bastoni has been accused of unsportsmanship is there’s also those who, through social appeals, have asked technical commissioner Gennaro Gattuso not to call him back to the national team. “Bastoni’s gesture leading to Kalulu’s expulsion is of extreme unsportsmanship,” he said. “Gattuso should seriously consider leaving him at home, the unsportsmanship shown by #Bastoni does not match the values of the Azzurri,” are some of the comments that appeared on social media.

Ezio Greggio, a famous comedian who has never hidden his Juventus faith, was not tender with the Inter defender: “Great game by Juventus in a match distorted by a notorious Nerazzurri stunt-man (any reference to Bastoni is purely intentional), shameful rules and referee” he wrote on social.
