Fabio Capello deeply disappointed by Cristian Chivu’s words: "Inconsistent"

The statements made by Cristian Chivu after Inter-Juventus opened a new chapter in the controversy following the embarrassing behavior of Nerazzurri defender Alessandro Bastoni: rarely had the world of soccer been seen to take one side decisively and this is what happened starting on Saturday night, with senseless and shameful peaks, made of threats to the footballer and his family, but also demands for exemplary punishments, with for example the ouster of the former Parma player from the next convocations in the national team.

And speaking of former technical commissioners, but of England and Russia, Fabio Capello, in the Gazzetta dello Sport, spoke on what the Romanian said: “I know Chivu very well, who was my player at Roma, but his words after the match deeply disappointed me. The Nerazzurri coach was not consistent with what he had said on the eve of the match and in the end he gave the impression of justifying what happened. More than his words, however, his actions” count.

The bisiaco, then, went further: “Chivu took off Bastoni at halftime because he knew exactly that he would risk staying on the field, after the bad gesture on the red to Kalulu. I would have expected statements of quite a different tone, especially after a win”.
