The Olympic dream fades for Rebecca Passler. The Italian Winter Sports Federation, in fact, announced the quartet that will start the women×6 relay, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 2:45 p.m. at the Antholz-Anterselva Biathlon Arena: Hannah Auchentaller, Dorothea Wierer, Michela Carrara and Lisa Vittozzi. FISI decided not to summon Passler, who had resumed training in recent days.

Rebecca Passler is a granddaughter: her uncle Johann Passler won two Olympic bronze medals and four World Championship medals, including two gold medals in the relay. She took up biathlon around the age of eight, spurred on by the example of her older sister Greta and a deeply rooted tradition among young people in the Antholz Valley.

In her youth career she collects outstanding results, with five podiums at the World Junior Championships. Prominent among them is the gold in the women’s 4×6 km relay achieved in Soldier Hollow in 2022. She makes her World Cup debut at the end of November 2021, in the Swedish leg in Ă–stersund.

The best individual finish comes in December 2025, when she finishes 11th in the Annecy-Le Grand Bornand mass start, touching the top ten. A result she manages to replicate a few weeks later, in early 2026, with 11th place in the sprint in Oberhof, Thuringia.
