First set of the highest level: Khachanov already has to save a break point in the second game, then in the fifth he gets two consecutive ones but Alcaraz comes out as a champion. In the next game it is the Spaniard who has another chance, cancelled with an ace by the Russian who also cancels a set point in the tenth game again with his serve. It thus comes to the tie-break where Khachanov is dominant and wins by 7 points to 3.

Immediate the reaction of the world number one in the second set. Khachanov pays dearly for the first real misstep of the match in the fifth game in which he delivers with three free errors. Only one break is enough for Carlitos to take the second set: the Russian nullifies with his serve a set point in the ninth game but has to surrender in the next one: Alcaraz’s ace puts the match back on a perfect tie.

In the last and decisive partial it is again the fifth game that makes the difference: Alcaraz goes up 30-40 but Khachanov cancels the break ball with his serve, at the advantages however the Russian improvises a short ball easily read by the Murcian who passes him in the next point scratching the break. Carlitos concedes crumbs on serve and in the ninth game again takes the serve away from Khachanov flying into the semifinals.
