Beautiful gesture by Jutta Leerdam and the Dutch Olympic Committee: by mutual agreement, it has been decided to auction off the tracksuit that the very strong champion used at the Olympics in Milan Cortina, and the proceeds will go to the Pijnacker skating club, where Jutta began her career. Many offers have already come in: everyone wants the heirloom with which the champion won a gold medal and a silver medal.

“Jutta Leerdam&#8217s autographed skating suit, the one she wore to win her Olympic medals, is up for auction online and is currently on display in a case at the TeamNL House in Milan. Femke Kok&#8217s skating suit and Jens van‘t Wout&#8217s personal Olympic items were already up for auction. So far, all TeamNL Winter Games athletes have willingly participated in the’auction” reads the statement released by the Dutch Olympic Committee.

“The jacket worn by Jens van‘t Wout during the opening ceremony in Milan has already raised 3’000 euros. The proceeds will go to the Amsterdam Skating Club Jaap Eden, the club that played a key role in Van‘t Wout’s sports career. The flag he used to represent the Netherlands is also at the auction, as is the skating suit in which he won gold. Femke Kok will donate the proceeds of her suit to the auction to the club where she started: the Skating Training Club De Kluners in Wijnjewoude. With this auction we want to emphasize the’importance of sports clubs in the discovery and development of Dutch talents” c’it says.

Dutch Olympic Committee director André Cats explained, “Other Olympic items will be auctioned in the coming days. These will include Joy Beune&#8217s tracksuit, snowboarder Melissa Peperkamp&#8217s goggles, Kimberley Bos&#8217s skeleton race suit, and Jenning de Boo&#8217s bag. All of the items at the auction were designed especially for these Winter Games and are therefore collectibles”.
