Marc Marquez had a difficult day in testing in Buriram, complicating his work on the track with two crashes. Nevertheless, he managed to finish second overall, but admitted that he is still not at his best physically. The reigning world champion is back from the’right shoulder injury suffered in Indonesia last October, a knockout that forced him’s long layoff in addition to going under the knife again before the conclusion of 2025.

“I was not well, I woke up weak and with a stomach problem” Marquez told Sky Sports microphones. His day started with a fall at the’height of the white line at the edge of the track: “I started with a fall, I touched the line and lost the front, and that made me lose a little bit’ of confidence”. However, as time went on, Marquez was able to recover and continued to work on the bike setup. “We still managed to work, tomorrow I hope to feel better physically”, he added.

Regarding the rider market, Marquez wanted to shed light on the rumors about his future, explaining that there&#8217s nothing official: “These are just rumors, nothing official. I am working with Ducati for my future”. Speaking later with the ‘Crash.net’ portal, he also talked about renewal with Ducati, saying that the ideal contract would be two years, provided that his shoulder continues to improve.

“If my physique respects me and does not limit me, I will have no problem with a two-year contract. I have always said that it is not a good idea to sign while injured. My shoulder is better and if it continues like this there will be no problem” explained Marquez.

His future seems geared toward a renewal with Ducati, but Marquez in Buriram fleetingly stopped by to say hello to old friends in the Honda box, fueling rumors of a possible return to Team HRC. Nevertheless, the Catalan rider is focused on working with Ducati and starting the 2026 season at 100 percent, trying to fully recover fitness and find the right feeling with the bike.
