Pecco Bagnaia has already decided his future: more than a hint in 2027 key

Pecco Bagnaia started the 2026 season decidedly different than last year’s. In the 2025 Thailand tests, the Ducati rider had struggled from day one, struggling to find the right feeling and configuration for his GP25. This year, however, Bagnaia set the best time in the first morning of time trials at the Buriram circuit, giving himself a chance to focus in the afternoon on a Sprint simulation instead of a time attack.

“Compared to last year, it went much better– he told Sky Sports microphones -. Last year’the first day of testing was very difficult, while today from the very beginning I felt better with the new bike” said Bagnaia, emphasizing both technical and mental improvement. The Borgo Panigale Rossa rider also added that he has resolved some doubts about the fairing that had limited him in Malaysia.

Questions about his future were not lacking, with rumors bringing him closer to Aprilia for 2027, where he could race alongside Marco Bezzecchi. Despite the various hypotheses, Pecco preferred not to speak directly about his decision, but left an important clue: “It is right that there are rumors. The job of journalists is to be able to give news, but in a few days many announcements of many teams will come out and mine” he said, letting himself go with a smile.

“I don&#8220t see why I should say that now. I prefer to stay focused on testing and the first race” said two-time MotoGp champion, three-time world champion considering also the Moto2 title in 2018.

When asked if his future was already decided, Bagnaia replied: “I just decided and followed my instincts, I chose what I thought was right for me”. His future, then, will remain an unknown at least until the first Gp of the season, but the’Aprilia hypothesis is getting stronger and stronger. In the meantime, Pecco remains focused on working with Ducati for a 2026 in which he wants to be a protagonist.
