Peppe Poeta enjoys the Italian Cup: "Victory of head and spirit"

The 2026 Italian Basketball Cup goes to Olimpia Milano, able to beat Tortona 85-77 in the final at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. An achievement celebrated by coach Peppe Poeta, who after the game went wild in his thanks to his team. Big congratulations, then, also to the opponents in the final act of the competition.

We were able to turn the game around with our defense, limiting them in the third and fourth periods. We won the game with spirit, with our heads. On offense our great champions took us by the hand, but this victory belongs to the whole of Olimpia Milano” added Poeta.

Now Olimpia Milano will already have to focus on its next goals. “Meanwhile we enjoy the Italian Cup, it was not a given to win it. Then we will have to think about the’Euroleague, and we know it will be tough – Poeta admitted -The schedule is not the best, but we will try until the’last day”.

“I am enjoying this trophy won as a coach. The feeling is wonderful, but I want to share it with everyone. My favorite aspect of coaching is the sharing. Then you win to celebrate, and I will find a way to do that” concluded Poeta.
