The stadium&#8217s apprehension stemmed not only from the fact that Loftus-Cheek remained on the ground, but also because the Milan medical staff after rescuing him immobilized his neck with a collar. Fortunately, the player never lost consciousness, but inevitably he was replaced. Entered Jashari in his place, Milan-Parma then resumed its regular course, in an atmosphere that remained perforce tense and muffled for a few minutes before the minds of players and public returned to focus on the match.

Appearing bleeding under his nose and on his cheekbone even before leaving the San Siro, Loftus-Cheek suffered fractured teeth. Transported to the hospital in Milan to perform some necessary investigations, he has always remained conscious. For him a severe trauma and pain also in the head as well as the jaw, but averted any worst-case scenario after a collision with Parma’s Corvi that had undoubtedly created a few more scares. Further investigations, scheduled for hours after the match, will clarify his clinical picture definitively.

Born in London on January 23, 1996, Ruben Loftus-Cheek grew up in Chelsea’s youth ranks and it was with the Blues’ jersey that he established himself as one of the most important midfielders in English soccer over the past decade. After winning, in addition to the rest, two Premier Leagues with the Londoners, he joined AC Milan in 2023.

In the Rossoneri he has so far amassed more than 70 appearances in Serie A, with 9 goals to his credit to which he added 4 in the Europa League in 2024. In the same year he won the Italian Super Cup with Milan. During the following season, however, Loftus-Cheek returned to wear the England national team jersey after a long absence.
