A rousing start to the season for Nicolò Bulega. The 26-year-old Ducati rider dominated the first weekend of the Superbike World Championship on Australian soil. L’ace from Emilia won, in that of Phillip Island, all the races confirming that he is in great shape. In race-2, Nicolò Bulega, under an annoying rain that made the race decidedly more complicated, crossed the finish line first, ahead of Alex Bassani and Alvaro Bautista.

“When I saw that it was raining I was angry but I tried to turn this anger into energy and try to make a difference even under the water. It was a good race, maybe too long because I had to be twice or three times as careful as in the dry and from the middle of the race the track became very slippery”, the words of the winner of race-2 in the post race.

It should be mentioned that Nicolò Bulega literally dominated in race-1 of the Australian GP, the opening round of the World Superbike Championship at the Phillip Island circuit. The rider of the factory Ducati, who started from pole position, immediately took command of operations by imposing an unsustainable pace for his opponents and gradually stretching over the 22 laps in the program.

Thanks to this success, Nicolò Bulega rises to 23 successes in SBK, becoming the’most successful Italian ever (surpassed Marco Melandri): “I am really happy to have become the most successful Italian after also surpassing Marco Melandri in the standings,” his comment.

The vice world champion, a big favorite to win the title after the transfer of rainbow winner Toprak Razgatlioglu to MotoGP, thus inaugurates the season in the best way but does not get overly excited: “I think there are many riders who need time to show their full potential because they have changed teams and bikes”, the Ducati rider from Emilia’s rider.
