Juventus market, Di Gregorio in the dock: all the alternatives

Most criticized players at Juventus include Di Gregorio. The Bianconeri goalkeeper, especially in recent outings, has not been flawless. Fans, accustomed in the past to great number ones, are not convinced that the former Monza goalkeeper is the right profile for the Old Lady. After a more than decent first season, this’year the 1997-born extreme defender is having a few too many difficulties, so much so that there are those who think that, at the end of the season, he might even be sold.

Di Gregorio, who arrived in Turin, Juventus’ side, in July 2024, has a guaranteed contract with Juventus until June 2028. However, market rumors about him continue to circulate. Costing, in total, about 20 million euros, he could also become a major capital gain, as the Bianconeri club values him at no less than 30 million euros. It remains to be seen who could step up (the name has also been mentioned of Inter, looking for Sommer’s heir).

Contemporaneously, the Old Lady would be sounding out the market in search of a possible replacement for Di Gregorio. In pole position would be Carnesecchi. The Atalanta number one, class of 2000, is proving to be one of the best goalkeepers around, but La Dea is not a club that gives away its aces. There is talk of a decidedly high price tag that could even reach 50 million euros. Moreover, Atalanta does not seem to be of the mind to let go of its number one.

In addition to Carnesecchi, watch out for the name of Vicario. The Blue goalkeeper, owned by Tottenham, has also been approached by Inter. He costs significantly less than Carnesecchi (roughly half as much) and has a lot of experience at the international level.

The Provedel option, now at Lazio, and a foreign solution should not be ruled out either. It would certainly not be the first time, although the idea of having an Italian goalkeeper remains the preferred solution. However, before any negotiations are set up, it will be necessary to understand whether Di Gregorio has a market or not.
