In an interview with TG1, the Italian tennis player made some confessions about the South Tyrolean champion and'other tennis star Carlos Alcaraz
"Jannik? You also have to be a little bit' realistic in life…"
"One tries and works every day to get where'he is…"
"…but I recognize that Jannik is at this moment very far away from me"

Flavio Cobolli is training with another phenomenon, Carlos Alcaraz, to learn some secrets
"When you do two hours of training with a tennis player you play for two hours, but when you do it with Alcaraz it only seems like 20 minutes"

"He’s giving me so much advice and even if he doesn’t say it outright some, I still learn"

Cobolli made a positive assessment of his 2025: "I can still improve on everything according to my team"
The Davis Cup triumph: "I gave the trophy to my grandfather but after a while'he gave it back to me…"
"…in Rome they all stopped him on the street and he couldn’t take it anymore"

Solid performance for the Roman tennis player who won in two sets: 7-6, 6-1, at the end of a match in which he suffered only in the first set when, at 5-6, he had to face two set points in favor of his rival. Very well the’approach to the tie-break, won 7-4. In the second partial, Wu Yibing decisively raised the white flag, leaving the court to the Italian who closed with a peremptory 6-1.

For Flavio Cobolli this is the sixth ATP semifinal in his career. It is the third Italian tennis player to win a semifinal in the prestigious Acapulco tournament after Fabio Fognini in 2013 and Lorenzo Musetti in 2021. Between Flavio Cobolli and the final there’s now the obstacle Miomir Kecmanovic, world number 84, who eliminated Frenchman Terence Atmane in two sets (6-3, 6-3 the partials).

Nothing to do, however, for the’other Italian player engaged in Acapulco. Mattia Bellucci, in fact, was overcome by Frances Tiafoe who got the better of him in two sets: 6-3, 6-4 the partials, at the end of a match that lasted one hour and 47 minutes. So many wasted chances for the Azure who, in the end, paid for his lack of lucidity in key moments.

Good news also came from the WTA tournament in Merida where Jasmine Paolini, L’azzurra, back from three defeats in a row, rediscovered the taste of victory by imposing herself on Australian Priscilla Hon in two sets: 6-0, 6-2 the partials. In total, an hour and 13 minutes on court for Jasmine Paolini who, in the quarters, will face Katie Boulter.
