Luciano Spalletti’s future seems to be on the Juventus bench, at least as far as next season is concerned. The wish in the Bianconeri household is to see the Tuscan coach also leading Juve in the Champions League in the 2026-2027 season but eventual qualification for the cup with big ears does not seem to be a mandatory condition for renewal.

According to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, in fact, there have been more than positive contacts between Spalletti and the Bianconeri management so much so that the former national team coach is expected to sign a contract extension soon. There are two hypotheses for the Certaldo coach’s renewal that differ both in terms of duration and salary.

The first option, which is more articulated, involves a contract extension until 2027 at six million euros, plus an easily attainable one in bonuses, per season with an option for the following season in favor of the club at the same figures. The second, on the other hand, is simpler: two-year renewal at five million euros a’year. At the moment, the’most credited hypothesis seems to be the first.

In the meantime, Spalletti is focused on the challenge with Udinese, scheduled for Saturday night at 8:45 p.m. at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, in one of the early matches of the 29th day of Serie A. A win for the Bianconeri would be crucial from a Champions perspective since it would be worth the momentary overtaking of Como and Roma, who will face each other Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Sinigaglia.

For the challenge against the Friulians, the Tuscan coach will recover Dusan Vlahovic, who returned to training with the group on Wednesday. The Serbian center forward, out since late November due to a groin injury that forced him to undergo surgery, will be called up but is expected to start from the bench. Leading Juve’s attack will still be David, with Yildiz, McKennie and Conceiçao in support in the three-quarter.
