The Indian Wells tournament is heading to its denouement. The four remaining tennis players are Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. The world number one will face the rediscovered Russian, reborn after complicated times in recent months. The Moscow tennis player feels good and is ready to give battle to the Murcia champion, stating that he feels very confident.

“Right now, I feel I play excellent tennis. I don’t want to jump to conclusions by saying that it is the best tennis of my life, but the fact that the court here is slightly faster and the balls are different makes me think that I have a great opportunity to show my best tennis against Carlos”, explained Daniil Medvedev in a press conference after the quarterfinal.

“I know he is the most difficult opponent possible, along with Jannik Sinner, and I will have to give it my all to win”, continued Medvedev, who beat Jack Draper in the quarterfinals.

The Russian explains what has changed in his tennis since the’farewell of previous coach Gilles Cervara: “There were not many changes in terms of tennis because I know what I have to do to play well, but it was important to have a totally different perspective. I needed a change and everything is working wonderfully. I also think it is great to know that Thomas Johansson was an elite tennis player because it helps me understand the things that happen to me”.

During the match with Jack Draper, Medvedev asked for video review for a gesture by his opponent that allegedly distracted him: “Was I that distracted? No. Was I distracted a little bit? Yes. Is it enough to win the point? I don&#8217t know. Do I feel good about this? Not really. But I also don’t feel like I cheated or anything like that”.
